The Montechiaro area is nowadays renowned for the extra virgin olive oil production and “Uve di Sabato” as the only one to produce and process these tasty grapes. Its history, as well as the one of Maison Montechiaro, have an ancient origin.
Once a Monastery of the order of the Discalced Carmelite Fathers, in the second half of the 1960s it became an institution for education and assistance to poor children. The idea of transforming a religious institute into an accommodation facility pursues the forms of hospitality that have characterized the hospitality of monks and nuns since the Middle Ages.
